Piret Hirv currently works at Tehnopol Science and Business Park where she leads the field of healthtech and also the Estonian Connected Health Cluster. Tehnopol collaborates with many international healthtech networks, helping startups and organizations find clients and partners for development projects.
Until 2018, Piret worked at the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs as the innovation and e-services’ adviser, her main focus was on supporting the Estonian social security field’s digitalization, as well as innovation in health, workforce and social matters. During the Estonian Presidency of the EU Council, Piret was in charge of putting together and implementing the eTervis (eHealth) policy programme. As the first contact for international organizations and networks, she coordinated the activities of cross-border healthcare services.
Piret has a medical background, she has a Master’s degree from TalTech where she studied healthcare technology, and she has previously worked as a nurse. Piret also has a degree in Business Management, Communication and PR. She is currently studying at the University of Tartu to get a doctoral degree in Genome Technology.
